Living in Newham

Newham is a vibrant, young multi-cultural area. Some of the finest Asian boutiques in the country can be found here. We also have wonderful cafes and restaurants serving regional Indian and African cuisine. Epping Forest, one of the largest green spaces in London begins in Newham. We have one of the largest film studios in London and two purpose-built performance spaces for theatre, dance and music events.

You could sail and jet ski on the Royal Docks, row on the Olympic standard course beside University  of East London’s campus and walk on the 100-mile trail from Manor Park Station through Epping Forest to Harwich.

Newham is located north of the Thames on the east side of London. Once associated with docks and railways, it is now an area of changing landscape and economy. With a major international rail terminal with a direct link to Paris at Stratford, improved links to central London and the growing use of the City Airport are offering plentiful opportunities for regeneration.

The 2012 Olympics centred in Stratford, has placed Newham on the world map. The Olympics has brought more investment, transport and leisure facilities to Newham.
