FIRST STEPS offers a range of housing options to Londoners
FIRST STEPS gives you the option to either buy or rent a home.

If you choose to buy a home, FIRST STEPS offers Shared Ownership and Equity Loans. Both products are designed to bring down the cost of home ownership by reducing the amount of deposit required to buy a new home and by making monthly housing costs manageable.

If you choose to rent a home, FIRST STEPS offers Intermediate Rent and Rent to Buy. Intermediate Rent allows you to rent a brand new or refurbished home (usually for 6 months), or a home that is being re-let at less than the market rate.

Rent to Buy offers the opportunity to rent a newly built home on an Intermediate Rent basis; allowing you to rent a home for less than you would expect to pay on the open market.   • Self-contained studios and one bed flats;
  • Self-contained two and three bed family houses and flats
