FIRST STEPS offers a range of housing options to Londoners
FIRST STEPS gives you the option to either buy or rent a home.
If you choose to buy a home, FIRST STEPS offers Shared Ownership and Equity Loans.
Both products are designed to bring down the cost of home ownership by reducing the
amount of deposit required to buy a new home and by making monthly housing costs manageable.
If you choose to rent a home, FIRST STEPS offers Intermediate Rent and Rent to Buy.
Intermediate Rent allows you to rent a brand new or refurbished home (usually for 6 months),
or a home that is being re-let at less than the market rate.
Rent to Buy offers the opportunity to rent a newly built home on an Intermediate Rent basis;
allowing you to rent a home for less than you would expect to pay on the open market. You can do this for up to
five years with the option to buy the home through FIRST STEPS Shared Ownership when you are ready to buy.
