Our relocation scheme eases
the burden on teachers who have to move in order to start work with us.
To qualify you must:
Be a newly qualified primary teacher new to the Authority and on a full-time permanent contract;
Live more than 20 miles from the Newham boundary (in a straight line from the nearest point on the boundary) and move to within 15 miles of the boundary;
Arranging accommodation We will reimburse the cost of one visit to London to arrange accommodation before starting work with us.
Claim the cheapest appropriate standard return rail fare.
Furniture removal We will reimburse the cost (including insurance) of moving furniture and household goods
from your old home to your new one. Claim up to £300, subject to it being the lower of two written quotations.
Property purchase fees We will reimburse the fees charged by estate agents, banks, building societies and solicitors
involved in the purchase of a new home, including stamp duty, survey and land registry fees. Claim up to £500.
Disturbance costs We will reimburse the cost of disconnection and reconnection of gas, electricity and telephone.
Claim up to £100.
